The singer released her debut single, Here in 2015, when she was just 19 years old. It was a hugely acclaimed track by both critics and the public. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in 2015. It was the same time when she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her five original songs that was featured in the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 from Canada as well as Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. It was a special track because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she gave many of her listeners were able to relate to her experience in learning to love themselves as well as doubting herself. The guitar was gifted to her by her parents when she turned 10 which ignited the passion for music.
