The singer released her debut single, Here in 2015, when she was just 19 years old. It was a hugely acclaimed track by both critics and the public. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in 2015. It was the same time when she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her five original songs that was featured in the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 from Canada as well as Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. It was a special track because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she gave many of her listeners were able to relate to her experience in learning to love themselves as well as doubting herself. Cara's songs often include positive thoughts about mental health, and the importance of loving oneself. All of Cara's music stems directly from her battle with mental illness, insomnia as well as other problems. According to a Reuters interview, the album has been described as a halfway tumultuous, half perfected. She found that therapy has helped her develop and encourages others to do the same. Alessia Cara is a Canadian performer who was born on the 11th of July, 1996 to parents from Italian heritage. The guitar was gifted to her by her parents when she turned 10 which ignited the passion for music. She began covering the songs she loved at 13, to prove to that world that she had the skills and the courage necessary to be the next singer. One of the songs Sweater Weather ended up getting her noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to compose and record her songs.
